Spreading awareness on Cyber Safety at the British School of Bahrain

Cyber Safety Awareness @ British School of Bahrain

Sysprove Consulting conducted a number of cyber safety awareness sessions to parents and teaches of the British School of Bahrain (BSB). The objective was to create awareness among the parents and the teachers on how to safeguard children from the cyber threats.

The presentation covered a range of topics to educate parents and teachers in understanding various threats children may be exposed to while using the Internet and related digital resources, together with the necessary measures to safeguard children from these threats. The presentations also coincided with the Safer Internet Day #SaferInternetDay which is yearly marked on the 9th of February.

Topics covered include:

  1. Evolution of technology and changing behaviour
  2. Social Engineering – how children may become victims and steps to avoid these threats
  3. Cyberbullying
  4. Use of mobile devices
  5. Digital breadcrumbs
  6. Social media and usage guidelines by children
  7. Use of applications and safety
  8. Video games do’s and don’ts
  9. What’s to be done if one becomes a victim

The awareness sessions were led by the CEO of Sysprove Consulting Ravi Jayasundera and coordinated by the Head of Middle School Mark Jones and ICT Section Head Nicola Taylor
